Reapers Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Caterpillars, 4-2
|
The Grim Reapers faced a tough opponent in Grand Forks pitcher Auno Toivola, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Coffin by a final score of 4-2. Toivola went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Grim reliever Brian Rice picked up the win to move to 2-1. Aukthya Shalabh suffered the loss. The win puts Grim at 15-25.
Rick Becker, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2057 draft, took Grand Forks hurler Aukthya Shalabh deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Reapers on top, 4-2. In all, Becker had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"It never gets old," said Becker. "Winning, that is."
