Both teams had their chances, but the Yucca Valley Yellows eventually prevailed.

The Yucca Valley Yellows earned a close win over the Grim Reapers, thanks in part to Francisco García. The Yucca Valley right-hander, who is tied for 7th in the SA in quality starts with 6, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. With the win, Yucca Valley raised its record to 23-20.

Had Eric Martin not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Martin hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Yellows.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Yucca Valley skipper Ernest Orr. "I can't complain."
