Yellows Dismiss Reapers, 3-2

The Yucca Valley Yellows locked up a win at Ballpark of Yucca Valley, knocking off the Grim Reapers, 3-2. On the mound for Yucca Valley was right-hander Mark Chandler. He played a major role in the triumph. Chandler, now 3-4, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The save was credited to Pancho Lizalda, his 4th.
Gary Benjamin, who is tied for 5th in the SA in extra base hits with 16, came through for Yucca Valley with a solo home run in the bottom of the third. The center fielder went 2 for 3 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 1 RBI.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Grim manager Arnold Magowan. "The effort was great."
The Reapers have now dropped 5 straight.
