Reapers Win at Yucca Valley, 5-2
|
The Grim Reapers beat the Yucca Valley Yellows, 5-2, at Ballpark of Yucca Valley. Neil Rogers, who is tied for 8th in the SA in triples with 1, starred for Grim. He went 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Cecil Cornett earned the win for Grim. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 1-3. Rafael Balita finished to wrap up his 12th save.
With Grim leading 2-1 in the top of the third, Rogers hit a splitter from Francisco García for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Reapers ahead, 4-1.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Rogers told the Grim Bulletin.
The win elevated the Reapers to 25-21.
