Herons Win by Slim Margin, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Holy City Herons and the Caldwell Chiefs, pitcher Eisse Mouwen was the difference between victory and defeat. The Holy City left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Herons win. Mouwen yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 4-1. Dylan Boyd earned the save for Holy City, his 2nd of the year.
Holy City used a timely hit from Matthew Cameron to get the win. The shortstop stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Herons ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"Eisse knows how to get ahead of hitters, stay ahead of hitters, and put people out," said Holy City manager Ralph Horn.
The Silver A-leading Herons have a record of 34-13.
