Caterpillars Stick Hobeaus with 5-1 Loss
|
Alfredo Silva left his imprint on the 5-1 Grand Forks win against the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus. Silva went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. Len Horton picked up the win with 6.1 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 7 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 7-3. Hirokazu Fukuda recorded the save, his 3rd.
There was more than one reason the Caterpillars beat the Hobeaus, but Silva's big at-bat in the bottom of the fourth was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-1 lead when he hit a solo home run.
Grand Forks manager Oriol Razo commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
