Gutiérrez Leads Yellows to Win
|
The Yucca Valley Yellows topped the Holy City Herons by a score of 7-2. Leading the way was shortstop Emílio Gutiérrez. Gutiérrez was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Yellows. Francisco García got the win, improving to 6-4. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Dermot Bibby closed the door for Yucca Valley, picking up his 3rd save of the year.
John Edmiston, who is tied for 8th in the SA in triples with 1, helped out the Yucca Valley cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 4 with a double.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Edmiston told the Yucca Valley Daily News.
