Liberty U-24 Deal Yellows 4-3 Loss
|
Philadelphia starter Michael Adkins pitched well against the Yucca Valley Yellows at Liberty Youth Field. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3, in 10 innings. Reliever Víctor Rodríguez picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Ralph Dougherty took the loss. After today's action, Philadelphia sits at 23-27, while Yucca Valley falls to 28-22.
The game reached a climactic end in the bottom of the tenth. With Philadelphia trailing 3-2, Edward Hernández delivered the decisive blow, stroking a fastball from Ralph Dougherty for a 2-run home run. Ballgame.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Hernández said in his postgame press conference.
