The Grand Forks Caterpillars topped the Pontiac Godfathers, 4-3, with second baseman Dave Turner playing a big role. Turner hit 2 home runs for the Caterpillars in the win. Grand Forks pitcher Joe Richardson earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Clemens Schlöndorff suffered the loss. Hirokazu Fukuda earned the save for Grand Forks, his 4th of the year.

Turner had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch fastball from Clemens Schlöndorff, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Caterpillars a 4-3 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Turner.

Turner attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."

The 5th-place Caterpillars improved to 24-26.
