Godfathers Best Liberty U-24 in Pitching Duel
|
The Pontiac Godfathers picked up a win at Pontiac Copperdome, knocking off the Philadelphia Liberty U-24, 2-1. Starting pitcher Arthur Tidwell was a big reason why. Carlos Ramos wrapped it up, recording his 12th save. The 8th-place Godfathers go to 23-29.
Pontiac second baseman Vernon Bryant contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 37th hit of the season and put the Godfathers ahead, 2-0.
"Arthur was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Pontiac manager John Moss.
