Hobeaus Stymied by Yinzers, Dodson
|
The Monroeville Yinzers downed the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus, 6-0, at Smokies Stadium. Stellar pitching by John Dodson had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 7th in the SA in complete games with 1, handcuffed his opponent all game. Monroeville has run its win streak to 5 consecutive.
Dodson, a native of Milwaukie, Oregon, was dealing all game. He kept Smoky Mountain hitters off-balance, while giving the Yinzers 8.2 quality innings. Dodson threw 117 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 6.
"John controlled the strike zone," said Monroeville manager Jack Willis.
