Godfathers Win, 7-4, at Huntington
|
The Pontiac Godfathers trumped the Huntington Hermit Crabs, 7-4, at The Shell. Pontiac catcher John Melton was terrific. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Godfathers upped their record to 24-31.
With Pontiac leading 4-2 in the top of the fifth, Melton hit a run-scoring single off Huntington hurler Tom Lollis. It was the 10th hit of the season for Melton and put his team ahead, 5-2.
"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Melton.
