Hobeaus Rally to Tally 4-2 Win
|
Smoky Mountain and Holy City duked it out and the Hobeaus came out victorious.
Smoky Mountain center fielder Mark Page had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Holy City Herons, 4-2. Smoky Mountain reliever Mario García snagged the win, upping his record to 2-1. Robbie de Groot shouldered the loss.
Smoky Mountain used the timely hitting of Sylvain Bonnin to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hobeaus on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Page called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
Smoky Mountain is in 6th place in the Silver A with a record of 29-26.
