Tight Tilt Goes to Blue Dragons, 3-2
|
Starting pitcher Darren Marquis gave the Levittown Blue Dragons a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Walla Walla Walleye, 3-2, at The Cave at Levittown. Marquis got the win, improving to 3-7. He gave up 5 hits and walked 4 over 8 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Getting the save was Mario Salas, his 11th.
Levittown took a 3-2 lead on Konrad Varkevisser's 6th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Varkevisser hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Walla Walla pitcher Ron Smith visibly frustrated.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Walla Walla manager Félix Cruz. "But we decided not to take it."
The victory makes Levittown 19-37.
