Godfathers Win at Huntington, 4-1
|
Clemens Schlöndorff, who is tied for 9th in the SA with a 8.4 K/9 rate, never let the Hermit Crabs get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Godfathers to a win, 4-1. Carlos Ramos earned the save for Pontiac. Pontiac bumps their record to 25-31 with the win.
Pontiac won the game in part because of Matt Nance. The center fielder ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Godfathers ahead, 1-0. For the game, Nance had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Pontiac skipper John Moss.
