River Rats Take Tight Tangle
|
Columbia and Lake Erie played a hard-fought contest.
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 23-year old catcher Jeffrey Hull, the Columbia River Rats stopped the Lake Erie Arryns, 3-2. Columbia now sports a record of 31-26.
Had Hull not come through in the top of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Hull hit a 2-run home run. The River Rats took the lead, 3-2, and never looked back.
After the game, Columbia manager Bayram Tanaoglu applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
