The Myrtle Beach Seahawks picked up a win at Seahwaks Stadium, dropping the Athletic Club KC U-24, 3-2. Tommy Davis, who is tied for 2nd in the SA with a 10.6 K/9 rate, was the difference-maker. Jason Johnson earned his 10th save, after closing out the game. With the win, Myrtle Beach upped its record to 31-30.
Arturo Garza, who is tied for 3rd in the SA in RBI with 33, took Athletic Club KC hurler Vicente Torres deep in the bottom of the fifth. His 3-run home run put the Seahawks on top, 3-2. In all, Garza had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Tommy gave us a huge shot in the arm," said Myrtle Beach manager Clay Myers.
