Villalobos Slugs Herons to 5-1 Win
|
The Holy City Herons beat the Caldwell Chiefs, 5-1, at Mango Yard. Holy City left fielder Júlio Villalobos had an outstanding performance. He belted 3 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored three times. Narihira Yamamoto, who leads the SA with a 1.60 ERA, was the winning pitcher. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 1 run on 4 hits, with no walks and 7 strikeouts. The win gives Holy City a season record of 39-22.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Villalobos hit a solo home run off Ronnie Palmer. It propelled the Herons into the lead, 2-1.
Holy City manager Ralph Horn praised his team's "businesslike approach."
