Liberty U-24 2-1 Victors Over Grand Forks
The Grand Forks Caterpillars were defeated, 2-1, by the Philadelphia Liberty U-24 at Liberty Youth Field, even though Len Horton pitched well for Grand Forks. Pavel van Zundert came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. The Liberty U-24 now own a record of 28-35.

Mark McCartney drove in one run for Philadelphia. In the bottom of the sixth, with the teams deadlocked, 1-1, McCartney delivered for the Liberty U-24. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Philadelphia on top, 2-1.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Philadelphia manager Dan Fletcher.
