Herons Defeat Hobeaus, 5-2

The Holy City Herons polished off the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus by the score of 5-2. The largest share of the credit belonged to shortstop Al Anderson. Anderson was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 for the Herons. Holy City reliever Carlos Atiencia picked up the win, raising his record to 3-5. Bubba Orr was tagged with the loss. Their 34-29 record puts the Herons 4th in the Silver A.
The Herons got an important contribution from third baseman Ángel Ortíz, who in the top of the third punched a 1-1 cutter to right-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Herons ahead, 3-0.
Said losing manager Gianni Martin: "Give the Herons credit. They played a better game than we did."
