Yellows Collect 2-0 Win Versus Pontiac

The Yucca Valley Yellows picked up a win at Pontiac Copperdome, courtesy of Francisco García. The right-hander helped his team stop the Pontiac Godfathers, 2-0. In 7 innings, García surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Getting the save was Daniel Valdés, his 8th.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Yellows had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the fourth, when center fielder Gary Benjamin hit a solo home run. The home run came off Dan Caine and made the score 2-0, Yellows. Benjamin went 1 for 4 with a home run.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Benjamin said.
Yucca Valley goes to 36-27, Pontiac to 28-35.
