Dragoons War Memorial Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Monroeville Yinzers and Columbia River Rats.
The Columbia River Rats picked up a win at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium, courtesy of Luis Villarreal. The right-hander helped his team stop the Monroeville Yinzers, 3-1. Columbia, at 39-26, occupies second place in the Silver A.
Columbia used the hitting of Miguel Ortega to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the River Rats on top, 3-0. For the game, Ortega had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Ortega called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
