Herons Take Tight Tangle
|
Monroeville pitcher Pete Costa gave the Herons all they could handle, but in the end, Holy City left Dragoons War Memorial Stadium with a win, 2-1. Costa allowed 1 run on 4 hits over 6.1 innings. Holy City, at 30-36, occupies 7th place in the Silver A.
Holy City used the timely hitting of Evan Bryant to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Herons on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Monroeville manager Jack Willis said, following the tough loss.
