Hobeaus Top Reapers to Even Record
|
The Smoky Mountain Hobeaus claimed a close win over the Grim Reapers, due in large part to Bob Bradley. The Smoky Mountain right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. The winner was Bradley. He threw 6.1 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Jean-Jacques Grimaud. The save went to Brandon Martin, his 6th this season.
Tied up with the Reapers in the top of the fourth inning, the Hobeaus got a boost from center fielder Lúcio Sosa. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Sosa saw a 1-1 fastball from Jean-Jacques Grimaud and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Smoky Mountain on top, 2-1.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Grim manager Arnold Magowan.
The Hobeaus are now 33-33, while the Reapers fall to 24-42.
