Monroeville and Walla Walla played a hard-fought contest.

Walla Walla got a decent performance from pitcher Juan Ibarra, but it wasn't enough to beat the Monroeville Yinzers. Monroeville won the Walleye Tank contest, 3-2. Ibarra threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Abraham Catron earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 1-0.

Monroeville used a well-timed hit by Robert Tavares to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Yinzers ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Monroeville manager Jack Willis.

The loss makes Walla Walla 27-39.
