Grand Forks Caterpillars starter Jorge Gonzáles pitched his team past the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus, 3-2. The win has Grand Forks at 27-43.
Kenzo Hatakeyama, who is tied for 10th in the SA in home runs with 10, had a direct impact on the outcome. Hatakeyama contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Grand Forks up, 1-0.
"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Hatakeyama told the Grand Forks Bulletin.
