River Rats Need Extra Frames to Get Past Herons
|
The Columbia River Rats defeated the Holy City Herons, 4-2, in 10 innings. Miguel Ortega played a big role. Ortega went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the River Rats in the win. Holy City is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
Had Ortega not come through in the top of the tenth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Ortega hit a 2-run single. The River Rats took the lead, 4-2, and never looked back.
"We're not exactly playing great right now," said Ralph Horn, the Holy City manager.
