Blue Dragons Lose at Home, 3-1
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus and the Levittown Blue Dragons, pitcher Jaime Cruz was the difference between victory and defeat. The Smoky Mountain right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 Hobeaus win. Albert Longoria earned the save, his 8th. The 5th-place Hobeaus are now 39-35, the Blue Dragons 28-46.
Smoky Mountain used the bat of Bob McGinnity to get the win. The catcher spanked a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Hobeaus ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it altered the outcome.
"Jaime showed what he's made of," said Smoky Mountain manager Belchior Tinoco.
