Herons Rally to Win, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Holy City Herons and the Columbia River Rats, 22-year old right-handed pitcher Juan Carlos Vargas was the difference-maker. The Holy City right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Mark Lee, now 6-3, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Holy City, at 38-36, holds down 5th place in the Silver A.
The Herons relied on second baseman Allen Harris for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 11th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Bayram Tanaoglu.
