The Eugene Vandals beat the Delmarva Gallos, 7-3, at The Cage. The Vandals got a fine performance from pinch hitter Júlio Salinas, who went 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Dean Mangin earned the win to go to 4-4. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work. Steffen Camp was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 25 of 29 save opportunities.
In the top of the seventh, Salinas put his team in front with his 8th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came against Charles Fields, made it 6-2, Eugene.
Salinas told a Eugene Herald reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Vandals raised their record to 37-38.
