The Walla Walla Walleye claimed a close win over the Delmarva Gallos, due in large part to Tony Smith. The Walla Walla right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-0 win. The Walleye, at 50-26, have now won 4 straight.

The Gallos had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Walleye going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old second baseman Luis González came to the plate. González hit a solo home run on a 2-2 sinker from Delmarva hurler Danny Hockey. It was González's 8th home run of the year.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Félix Martínez.
