Fans watched the Grand Forks Caterpillars and the Alaskan Bush Pilots fight to the finish.
John Carey made an impact in the 3-2 Grand Forks win over Alaskan. Carey was 4-4 with 4 singles, while adding 3 RBI. Denie Vogelsang closed it out for his 10th save.
Had Carey not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Carey hit a run-scoring single. The Caterpillars took the lead, 3-2, and never looked back.
"Every loss hurts," said Alaskan manager Arturo Montáñez. "But this was a tough one."
With the win, Grand Forks upped its record to 38-38.
