Hobeaus Shut Out Caterpillars, 3-0
|
In a tight tilt between the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus and the Grand Forks Caterpillars, John Turner was the deciding factor. The Smoky Mountain right-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. Gordon Taylor collected his 8th save. Smoky Mountain has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Hobeaus had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when first baseman Luis Sáenz hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Santiago García and made the score 1-0, Hobeaus. Sáenz was 1-3.
Smoky Mountain manager Gianni Martin commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
