Herons Down Liberty U-24, 4-2

The Holy City Herons handed the Philadelphia Liberty U-24 a 4-2 defeat in 10 innings at Liberty Youth Field. First Baseman Brian Martin starred for Holy City. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Ryunosuke Nagata claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record stands at 3-2. Fred Ducklow got the save, the 11th for him this season.
Martin had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 1-0 fastball from Ismael Díaz, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Herons a 4-2 lead. It was the 11th home run of the year for Martin.
"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Martin.
The 7th-place Herons bumped their record to 36-41.
