Hobeaus Beat Caterpillars, 5-4
|
Grand Forks center fielder Raúl Pérez was sensational. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Smoky Mountain beat the Caterpillars, 5-4. Gijsbert Arents earned the win to go to 5-3. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts in 7 innings of work. The third-place Hobeaus have won 5 in a row.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Hobeaus took the lead, 5-0, when 22-year old center fielder Francis Marion hit a sacrifice fly.
Afterward, Grand Forks manager Oriol Razo said: "We've hit a rough patch."
