Washington Drops Another One, 6-5
|
The Holy City Herons overcame a good performance by Washington right fielder Biff Poggi to knock off Washington, 6-5, at Mango Yard. Poggi went 2 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Alex Carr, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. Washington is in the throes of a losing streak which has reached 9 games.
Tyler Taylor was 1 for 3 with a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Holy City. In a tie game with two out in the bottom of the seventh, Taylor came through with a run-scoring walk. It put the Herons in front, 6-5.
"I want us to come out, have fun, hit some balls, and score. We're having a tough time," said Kyu-cheol Kye, the Washington manager.
