Monroeville Nets 3-2 Win Versus Yellows
|
The Monroeville Yinzers and Yucca Valley Yellows played an entertaining game for Ballpark of Yucca Valley patrons.
The Monroeville Yinzers did just enough to nip the Yucca Valley Yellows, 3-2, in 10 innings. Monroeville pitcher Jing-yu Xiao, in particular, had a standout performance. Reliever José Benítez picked up the win. His record improves to 4-3. Ed Hull took the loss. Milo Church earned the save for Monroeville, his 10th.
Monroeville used the timely hitting of Bruce King to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Yinzers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I really like what we did out there today," King said after the game.
Monroeville is 29-51 and Yucca Valley, with the loss, 33-47.
