Generals Lose at Home, 3-1, to Myrtle Beach
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Myrtle Beach Seahawks and the Washington Generals, Rich Nelson, who is tied for 2nd in the SA in quality starts with 14, proved to be the difference. The Myrtle Beach left-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Seahawks win. Earning his 13th save for Myrtle Beach was Jason Johnson. The Seahawks sit in 5th place in the Silver A with a record of 42-39.
Myrtle Beach used the hitting of Jon Gore to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put the Seahawks on top, 2-0. For the game, Gore had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"I was able to fill up the zone," said Nelson.
