River Rats Squelch Liberty U-24 Offense in Shutout Win
|
José Bojórquez pitched a gem to lead Columbia to victory over the Philadelphia Liberty U-24, 4-0. Bojórquez, now 2-2, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The win puts Columbia at 47-35 this season.
Columbia went up, 4-0, on Miguel Ortega's 7th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Ortega hit in the top of the seventh, left Philadelphia pitcher Pete Gross shaking his head.
"I felt good up there," said Ortega. "I saw the ball well."
