The Holy City Herons pushed past the Monroeville Yinzers, 12-6, in 10 innings at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. Allen Harris went 4-5 with 4 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, to lead the charge. The win went to Carlos Atiencia in relief, making him now 4-5. Sterling Reece took the loss for Monroeville. The loss makes Monroeville 53-29.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Bob Rogers came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Monroeville pitcher Sterling Reece, he hit a 1-1 circle change for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Holy City on top, 7-6.
"There's no quit in this team," said Herons manager Ralph Horn.
