The Walla Walla Walleye locked up a win at Liberty Youth Field, knocking off the Philadelphia Liberty U-24, 6-4. On the mound for Walla Walla was right-hander Lu-po-teh Fong. He played a major role in the triumph. Taki Ohayashi collected save number 3. Walla Walla is now 54-29, 2½ games up in the Silver A.

Walla Walla used a big swing from Francisco Sánchez to get the win. The left fielder walloped a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Walleye up, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it changed the outcome.

"I went out and just tried to do my job," said Fong.
