Pontiac left fielder Nicol Stolk was sensational. He was 3-6 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Smoky Mountain beat the Godfathers, 13-7. The win was credited to 18-year old right-handed pitcher Gijsbert Arents in relief. His record improves to 6-3. Billy Cooper took the loss. The most important at-bat for Smoky Mountain came in the top of the 13th inning, when center fielder Reginald Parker stroked a 3-1 fastball to center for a run-scoring single, putting Smoky Mountain up, 7-6.
