River Rats Lose By a Run at Yucca Valley
The Yucca Valley Yellows topped the Columbia River Rats, 5-4, in USSL Single A action at Ballpark of Yucca Valley. The standout performance belonged to Yucca Valley pitcher and Wiwilí, Nicaragua, native Daniel Valdés. The Yellows improved their record to 35-48 by beating Columbia.

Raúl Rojas dealt the River Rats a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with the bases loaded and Yucca Valley leading 2-1, Rojas, who is tied for 8th in the SA in RBI with 43, hit a 2-1 fastball for a 2-run single.

"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Columbia manager Bayram Tanaoglu.
