Reapers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Arryns
|
The Grim Reapers and Lake Erie Arryns put on quite a show.
The Lake Erie Arryns could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Frank Hurst into a win. Instead, the Grim Reapers prevailed, 5-2, in 12 innings. Hurst threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The defeat makes Lake Erie 42-41.
The Reapers beat the Arryns in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Neil Rogers produced in the top of the 12th. Batting against Rick Walton, Rogers gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he hit a run-scoring single.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Rogers.
