The Yucca Valley Yellows did just enough to nip the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus, 4-3, in 10 innings. Yucca Valley pitcher Daniel Valdés, in particular, had a standout performance. Ralph Dougherty got credit for the win, improving to 5-3. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. The 4th-place Yellows have won 4 straight.

The Yellows got a clutch hit from center fielder Gary Benjamin. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Yellows.

"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Benjamin said in his postgame press conference.
