Caterpillars Win at Home, 5-2

The home crowd had a good time watching the Columbia River Rats and Grand Forks Caterpillars get after it.
The Grand Forks Caterpillars racked up a win at The Cocoon, bumping off the Columbia River Rats, 5-2. Len Horton, who started for Grand Forks, pitched effectively for his team. Horton picked up the win for Grand Forks, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 10-7. Hirokazu Fukuda earned his 14th save in 16 chances.
The Caterpillars got a big at-bat from right fielder George Wise. For the game, Wise went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Grand Forks a 3-0 lead.
Said Columbia manager Bayram Tanaoglu: "They just got the better of us."
The victory gives Grand Forks a record of 45-43.
