The 2056 season is getting uglier for Smoky Mountain.

The Pontiac Godfathers beat the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus, 5-3, at Smokies Stadium. The Godfathers got a fine performance from left fielder Bill Clapsaddle, who was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. John Postgate, the winning pitcher, is now 6-13. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 10 hits, while fanning 8 and walking 1. Júlio Medina was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 25 of 25 save opportunities.

In the first inning, Clapsaddle had a 2-run home run for Pontiac. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Godfathers on top, 2-0.

"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Smoky Mountain manager Hong Wei Cao.

The 'W' lifts Pontiac's record to 47-42.
