The Monroeville Yinzers racked up a win at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium, bumping off the Eugene Vandals, 3-1. Sean Jones, who started for Monroeville, pitched effectively for his team. Ray Mitrou got the save, his 12th in 14 chances. The Yinzers are now 48-42, while the Vandals fall to 42-48.
Monroeville took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 3rd, Ricardo Aquino hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Yinzers.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Eugene manager José Cervantes. "Obviously."
