Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Put-In-Bay Commodores and Philadelphia Liberty U-24.
Carlos Huertas pitched well, but his team, the Philadelphia Liberty U-24, still dropped a 4-3 decision to the Put-In-Bay Commodores at Liberty Youth Field. Greg Rivera, who is tied for 10th in the SA in holds with 4, earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 3-2.
Francisco Ferreira came through for Put-In-Bay when he hit a 2-run single in the top of the sixth. With the bases loaded, he hit a two-strike fastball to center field, staking his team to a 4-2 lead.
"Another day, another win. On to the next one," Ferreira told the Put-In-Bay Daily.
The loss makes Philadelphia 42-48.
