Caterpillars Get Past Yucca Valley, 3-2
The Grand Forks Caterpillars earned a close win over the Yucca Valley Yellows, thanks in part to Auno Toivola. The Grand Forks right-hander, who leads the SA with a 9.0 K/9 rate, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Ramón Santos, now 5-3, was credited with the win in 0.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Denie Vogelsang picked up the save for Grand Forks, his 13th of the year.

Grand Forks took a 3-2 lead on Elías Carnascialli's 7th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Carnascialli hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Yucca Valley pitcher Jesús Hernández shaking his head.

"Both teams played hard," said Grand Forks manager Oriol Razo.

The Caterpillars improved their record to 46-46 with the win over Yucca Valley.
