The Monroeville Yinzers and Philadelphia Liberty U-24 squared off at Liberty Youth Field.

The Monroeville Yinzers handed the Philadelphia Liberty U-24 a 6-3 defeat at Liberty Youth Field. Center Fielder Reed Francis starred for Monroeville. He was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The first-place Yinzers bumped their record to 60-33.

Francis contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Monroeville in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Francis took a fastball from Michael Adkins and stroked the home run to center. His 11th home run of the season allowed the Yinzers to leap in front, 3-1.

Francis said his team "played with a purpose."
