The Monroeville Yinzers dealt the Put-In-Bay Commodores a 5-4 loss at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. Dave Tucker was the star on offense. He went 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Picking up the save was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Dennis Bates. The 6th-place Yinzers now sit at 48-45.

Monroeville used a well-timed hit by Stu Kennedy to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Yinzers ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Kennedy told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
