A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Monroeville Yinzers and Philadelphia Liberty U-24.
The Monroeville Yinzers got a good effort from starter Robert Martin in defeating the Philadelphia Liberty U-24 at Liberty Youth Field. The final score was 7-2. The Yinzers raised their record to 37-57.
The result might have been different, had it not been for 21-year old first baseman Pete Zahut. Zahut had a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Yinzers ahead, 3-2. For the game, Zahut had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We took home the win," said Zahut. "What's not to like?"
